I classified the types of Bigfoot researchers into four categories but keep in mind these are generalizations and there are all kinds of people who are willing to get out to find proof that Bigfoot exists. Some may deviate from these descriptions but if you look into it, you will find that many do not. These searchers are camp, road, trail and deep forest searchers.
Who goes searching for Bigfoot? Believers and those that have seen Sasquatch/Bigfoot or something that makes them believe they have seen one. Believers are those that are convinced by the evidence that exists now. While skeptics will say there is no concrete scientific evidence, notice I did not say they are convinced by what scientific evidence exists. They are also searchers that may have seen something that they believe firmly is bigfoot or have seen something that they cannot explain and attribute it to Sasquatch. Those willing to speak out and tell of their encounters take quite a lot of abuse these days but that's another article. I for one have a tough time wanting to say anything since I was ridiculed, called names like, liar, loser, etc.

I have been reading on various sites and blogs that many of the contributors to those sites and blogs have sources close to the project or "sources" that say there will be a release soon. Some such as Robert Lindsay say that there will be positive findings. Here is an excerpt from his blog posted on his blog, Beyond Highbrow. "Dr. Bryan Sykes study may well prove that Bigfoots exist. From multiple sources, I have now received the news that not only will the Sykes DNA study publish soon, it will also prove that Bigfoots exist. None of the sources would tell me this in so many words, but they certainly implied that the findings would be positive. So I am looking forward to publication of the study. On the other hand, it is possible though not likely that the sources are all wrong and the study could be negative." |
